Dr. Shaun T. Ittiara, MD, FACS, FASRS
Dr. Shaun T. Ittiara is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal specialist with extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases affecting the retina, macula, and vitreous.
Dr. Ittiara graduated from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan. He completed his postgraduate training at Ochsner Health System/Louisiana State University Health Sciences Center in New Orleans, where he served as Chief Resident, followed by specialized fellowship training in medical and surgical vitreoretinal diseases at the University of Chicago.
Throughout his career, Dr. Ittiara has remained actively involved in education and academic medicine. He is a Clinical Associate at the University of Chicago and has served as a clinical and surgical instructor for the University of Chicago Vitreoretinal Fellowship training program. He has also served as Chairman of the Department of Ophthalmology at Mercy Hospital and Medical Center and as Clinical Faculty in Advanced Care at the Illinois Eye Institute.
Dr. Ittiara is committed to providing his patients with advanced retinal care while emphasizing clear communication, compassion, and individualized treatment.

Dr. Paul Chiranand, MD
Dr. Paul Chiranand is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal specialist who specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of retinal, macular, and vitreous diseases.
A native of Oak Forest, Illinois, Dr. Chiranand graduated Summa Cum Laude from Saint Louis University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Biology. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Saint Louis University School of Medicine, where he was elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Chiranand completed his internship at Forest Park Hospital in St. Louis and his ophthalmology residency at Saint Louis University, where he served as Chief Resident. He then completed a two-year vitreoretinal fellowship at the University of Chicago. His advanced training included the diagnosis and management of age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, retinal detachments, and other retinal conditions.
Dr. Chiranand has participated in numerous national clinical studies involving treatments for diseases of the retina, macula, and vitreous and has authored and co-authored multiple peer-reviewed publications and ophthalmology educational resources.
In addition to his clinical practice, Dr. Chiranand is dedicated to educating the next generation of ophthalmologists. He serves as a Clinical Professor at Loyola University, where he teaches residents in clinical and surgical ophthalmology, and as a Clinical Associate at the University of Chicago. He was recognized as Educator of the Year in 2021 for his contributions to resident education.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Chiranand enjoys traveling, playing tennis, and watching sports.
Dr. James C. Liang, MD, FACS, FASRS
Dr. James C. Liang is a board-certified ophthalmologist and vitreoretinal specialist with decades of experience caring for patients with retinal diseases.
Dr. Liang developed an early interest in retinal conditions, particularly diabetic retinopathy and age-related macular degeneration. Over the course of his career, he has witnessed significant advances in the diagnosis and treatment of these and other potentially blinding retinal conditions.
Dr. Liang completed his undergraduate studies in Physics at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and earned his medical degree from the University of California, San Diego. He completed his ophthalmology residency, retina fellowship, and chief residency at the University of Illinois Eye and Ear Infirmary in Chicago.
He has served on the retina faculty at both the University of Illinois and the University of Southern California and has participated in numerous clinical trials that helped establish many of the treatments that form the foundation of modern retinal care.
Since 1985, Dr. Liang has dedicated his career to caring for patients throughout Chicago and the southwest suburbs. In 1997, he established the Oak Lawn office of Retina Macula Care.
Dr. Liang believes that kindness and compassion are essential components of excellent retinal care and strives to provide every patient with thoughtful, personalized attention.
Dr. Obadah Moushmoush, MD
Dr. Obadah Moushmoush is a board-certified Ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained Retina Specialist and Vitreoretinal Surgeon.
A native of Charleston, WV, Dr. Moushmoush graduated summa cum laude from West Virginia University with honors in Biology. He earned his medical degree from West Virginia University, where he was inducted into the prestigious Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society. He then completed his residency training at Georgetown University, receiving the String of Pearls Award for his dedication to teaching and humanism, alongside two Ocular Innovation Awards.
Dr. Moushmoush advanced his specialization through a rigorous high-volume, two-year fellowship in the medical and surgical treatment of vitroretinal diseases at Cook County Hospital and Retina Associates in Chicago. He has authored book chapters, surgical videos, and presented at numerous national conferences. He is also deeply commited to global health, participating in multiple medical missions aroad.
Outside of medicine, Dr. Moushmoush enjoys staying physically active, trying new restaurants, and spending time with family and friends.
